The Wave-Function in Quantum Mechanics & The Bee Apocalypse
Did the W-Boson Just "Break the Standard Model"?
A twenty-year-old anomaly in particle physics, known as the "gallium anomaly", has been confirmed by a follow-up experiment. The statistical significance of the combined measurements is now at 4σ.One of the possible explanations is a sterile neutrino, which would be a new fundamental particle. However, I suspect the gallium anomaly is due to a misunderstanding of nuclear cross-sections and not caused by sterile neutrinos. (Beware: This is not the same as the LSND/MicroBoone anomaly which has disappeared – the experiments operate in different energy ranges.) The currently most significant anomaly in particle physics is that in the mass measurement of the W-boson which I talked about here.
My New Paper on Wave-Function in Quantum Mechanics
I just published a paper with Jonte Hance about how to interpret the wave-function in quantum mechanics. This paper contains the technical details on what I explained in this video.Additional Read: If you love nature photography as much as I do, there are some amazing photos to admire here.

In this week’s video, we look into the question of how the bees are doing. Whatever happened to those headlines claiming they were going extinct? Turns out there’s good news (the honeybees are fine) and there’s bad news (the wild bees aren’t).
