One Step Closer to Internet Safety

Popular science news often motivates the use of the quantum internet by pointing out that quantum computers might soon be able to break the current internet security protocols. But some security protocols, known as "post-quantum cryptography," are safe from quantum computing. NIST just took us closer to this transition by selecting some of the new protocols. I talked about this and other misleading quantum hype here

If We Could Colonize the Milky Way, Should We?

Is it a good strategy to aim for interstellar colonization ASAP or should we better focus on living safely and sustainably on the one planet we know and like? This essay lays out the pros and cons. Additional Read: Some lovely photos on the shortlist for Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2022.

Can’t get enough of Sabine?

Then head over to Brilliant.org and check out her brand-new course on quantum mechanics! Brilliant is an amazing tool for learning STEM, and their team has partnered with Sabine to incorporate their trademark interactivity and give you the chance to explore her content on an even deeper level. Best of all, you can get started for free.

In my new video I review six video games that use basic principles of quantum mechanics. We had a lot of fun with this one! The games are all free, links are in the info below the video.
