New Proof Shows That Solar System is Stable for the Next 100,000 Years

The orbits of planets in our solar system may look very regular, but it's long been known that they are slightly chaotic. There is hence a small risk that one of the planets flies off into outer space.A new calculation with the best current data has now shown that this isn't going to happen for at least the next 100,000 years. One less thing to worry about!

Muon Anomaly Will Probably Become Less Significant

Last year in April a new experiment at Fermilab confirmed a 20 years old anomaly in the muon's magnetic moment (g-2). It now looks like the prediction from the standard model calculation is inching closer to the experimentally measured value. But the new papers have not yet been peer reviewed, so the situation is somewhat unclear at the moment. More here.

Solar Flares are Scary, Really Scary

Wired has an excellent new article about how woefully underprepared we are for the next big solar flare - which will inevitably come. I explained what solar storms are, how often they happen, and how dangerous they are in this video

In my new video, we look at the question of whether we should be more worried about overpopulation, or - as Elon Musk has argued - about underpopulation.
